Tour’s Program

Upon arrival at Mfuwe airport in the South Luangwa national park you will be Met by representatives from Kafunta lodge, the journey will approximately 30 minutes from the airport.
Kafunta River Lodge’s spacious wooden deck above the waterhole provides our guests with undisturbed views over the plain. You can absorb the stunning location and, while darkness falls, enjoy sumptuous candle lit meals under a vast African night sky, whilst watching as animals of all types come to the floodlit waterhole, a simply magical experience.
A peaceful early morning breakfast on the deck as the sun rises is a great way to start your day, just before the excitement of a safari exploring the wildlife of the South Luangwa with your guide. The wildlife hide underneath the deck is also the perfect place to enjoy a spot of birding or photography during the hottest part of the day.
On the fourth day you will be transferred to Lion Camp which approximately 4o minutes’ drive from Kafunta Lodge. Situated at the end of the Great Rift Valley, the steep banks of the Muchinga Escarpment form the park’s Western boundary and the Luangwa River forms most of the eastern boundary, with the exception of the Nsefu and Luamfwa sectors. Flowing for over 800km from its source in the remote hills of North Eastern Zambia into the Zambezi, the Luangwa River is the lifeblood of the Luangwa Valley. As it winds along the valley floor creating oxbow lagoons and open plains, alluvial deposits have resulted in rich soils capable of supporting high-quality grassland, woodland, and forest
Transfer to Mfuwe airport for departure to Lusaka for Livingstone. Check-in and transfer to Livingstone via Lusaka. Arrive Livingstone, meet and greet at the airport by our staff and transfer to David Livingstone Safari Lodge
Transfer to the Victoria falls for a guided tour of the Victoria falls, thereafter transfer to Mukuni Village for a Mukuni Big 5, Lunch and transfer to Livingstone adventures for a sundowner cruise on the Zambezi river, thereafter transfer back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
